Welcome to my little corner of the literary world.

I am Victoria Ashburn, a Romantasy and Dark Romance Author from regional Victoria, Australia. I'm a mum, a lifelong book lover, and someone who's spent far too many years getting lost in stories that exist almost entirely in my head.

​

I've always been a dreamer. The kind of person who can hear a song, catch a glimpse of a stranger, or imagine a single 'what if' and suddenly find an entire story beginning to unfold. 

​

For years, I've collected half-finished stories, characters with complicated pasts, and fictional men who refuse to behave themselves. And for years have secretly kept them to myself. 

​

Some stories have waited patiently. Others, such as my Debut series, demanded attention, jumping the queue to pour onto the page. 

​

I have decided that it's time to give my stories the space they deserve.

A little about my writing

​

My stories are born from a love of romance, fantasy, tension and the beautifully complicated mess that comes with being human and living with trauma. 

​

Because of life experiences, I am drawn to characters that aren't perfect, relationships that are not easy, and the moments when love, desire, and danger collide. 

​

Whether I am exploring the darker corners of romance or getting lost in a world of magic and possibility, I want my stories to make my readers feel something. 

​

The butterflies. The Tension. The heartbreak. Those moments when you need to put the book down, stare at the wall, and question every decision you have made. 

​

I love a story that gives slow burn, undeniable chemistry, and lives with you after you close the book; I aim to write that into my stories. 

​

My journey to becoming an author

​

Writing has been part of my life for years, but finishing a book or pursuing publication always seemed like something I would get around to one day. 

​

This year I decided to take that leap. 

​

Intentionally making space for the stories I have carried with me, learning along the way, and working toward turning those ideas into books that you can hold in your hands. 

​

It is exciting, a little terrifying, and something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. 

​

Beyond the books

​

When I am not writing, you will find me spending time with my family, getting lost in a good book, sketching, or daydreaming about characters and plot twists. And of course drinking way too much coffee. 

​

I am a firm believer that inspiration can show up anywhere and that sometimes the best stories begin with the smallest ideas.
